Membership Process – What to expect
A membership form can be completed online, downloaded or picked up at the Carthage Fire Department. The completed form will be reviewed by the Fire Chief. The investigating committee will conduct an interview with the prospective new member. If approved by the investigating committee the applicant's name and address will be submitted to the Board of Fire Commissioners for approval into the fire department. After acceptance into the department the new member will have an arson background check done and the process will begin to be a member of the department including completing paperwork, having a physical, receiving performance manuals, completing orientation and issued gear.
